Impossible Possibilities will host its 4th Annual St. Patrick's Day Festival at Trinity Park located at 2401 University Drive in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday, March 17, 2012. The festival is open to the general public and raises funds for the organization’s Scholarship Initiative, which helps send local DFW students to college. The afternoon event features a 5K Run/Walk, 1-Mile Kids’ Race, Guinness Beer Garden, Sponsor Expo and Kid Zone. Local caterers will be serving Irish smoked sausage, along with perfect pours of Guinness stout, Harp lager and Smithwick's ale! Make sure to bring a valid driver's license and additional cash if you plan to visit the Guinness Beer Garden. The Impossible Possibilities’ Sponsor Expo offers a great opportunity for local businesses to highlight their goods and services to the contestants, family members and spectators in attendance. The Kid Zone provides additional entertainment for children looking to jump head first into an afternoon filled with games and activities. For those searching for a relaxing getaway from the bustle of a day-to-day work week, Impossible Possibilities’ Center Stage features live Texas Country music. HeadlinerOpening BandSpecial Guest MCHost Hotel:The host hotel for the 4th Annual Festival is the Residence Inn Marriott located in the Cultural District next to Trinity Park. 2500 Museum Way BE SURE TO MENTION THAT YOU ARE WITH THE "5K FESTIVAL" FOR A SPECIAL RATE Festival Admission:Festival hours are from 2:00 p..m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is free to individuals participating in either the 5K or 1-mile kids' race. Admission is also free for children under 5 years of age. Admission for the general public is $5. General admission allows access to Center Stage, Guinness Beer Garden, Sponsor Expo and Kid Zone! Concession Prices:Beer is NOT free for 5K participants or for non-runners. All menu items are $4, including 16 oz. Guinness Draught, Harp lager, Smithwick's and Dominion Farms Irish smoked sausage. Center Stage:The opening band will kick off the Festival from 2:00-3:25 p.m., followed by Granger Smith from 4:00-5:00 p.m. and 5:15-5:45 p.m. after the conclusion of the Scholarship Presentation. THINGS TO KNOW Kid Zone:The 2012 Kid Zone will feature bounces houses, an obstacles course, balloon animals, face painting and other activities! Kid Zone and Sponsor Expo Hours:The Kid Zone and Sponsor Expo will open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Awards Ceremony:The top overall male and female winners (5K and 1-Mile), the masters male and female winners, and the top overall team will be recognized prior to the start of the Scholarship Presentation. Age group winners in their respective categories will pick up their awards at the designated "Awards Tent." Festival Raffle:Make sure to purchase a $5 raffle ticket for a chance to win one of the many generous prizes provided by local businesses and restaurants in the DFW area. (Prizes TBD) Parking:Parking for all 5K and 1-Mile participants will be at Farrington Field parking lot located at 1501 N. University Drive at the corner of University Drive and Crestline. Strollers:Strollers are welcome, but participants will need to line up at the back of the start line. Pets:No pets will be allowed on the race course or festival site.
