The mission of Impossible Possibilities is "To Inspire Students through Education." Vision Statement: "Be an Element of Change" Impossible Possibilities inspires students through education by conditioning eager minds for the ascent up the corridors of life’s unexplored mountain ranges. Seasoned minds evoke creative imaginations, and creative imaginations breathe life into the most subtle of ideas. And a single glimmer is all that is needed to make a difference in the world, and this idea in action rapidly becomes an “element of change.” Three Principal Initiatives: Impossible Possibilities, founded in 2007, focuses on three principal initiatives. The organization provides support both locally in the Tarrant and Dallas counties and abroad. Scholarship InitiativeImpossible Possibilities provides financial assistance to students based on academic achievement, life experience, desire to succeed and individual need. Each recipient is granted a $1,500 scholarship for higher learning. The scholarship can be used for tuition purposes or to defray overall expenses. Troublesome statistics reveal some schools in the DFW area are well below the state average in key education categories, such as drop out rates and SAT scores. Impossible Possibilities provides funding for various programs, including, but not limited to: curriculum building, science fairs, college prep courses, reading programs and education-based field trips. International InitiativeImpossible Possibilities implemented a long-term international initiative named “Past the Periphery” aimed at building schools in third-world countries. The program is currently a work in progress that will continue to expand as the organization moves forward. Impossible Possibilities is raising funds to meet its goal of breaking ground on its first school by 2015. Please visit the Past the Periphery page for more information or to give a donation. Diverse Programs: Along with its education initiatives, Impossible Possibilities created a base of innovative programs that benefit students of all ages, from first grade to high school seniors. By fostering an interactive approach, the organization is able to use its website as a news medium that highlights student achievement through video documentaries and feature writing. The programs range from a day-in-the-life series called "The Glimpse" to a video medium named "Sik'lik" that allows students to showcase their creativity by targeting an issue of substance through rhyme or lyrics. The Rundown:
Impossible Possibilities will host its second annual St. Patrick's Day-5K Festival at Trinity Park located at 2401 University Drive in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday, March 13, 2010. The 5K Festival is the premier event the organization coordinates each year. The 5K Festival is open to the general public and raises funds for the organization’s programs and initiatives. The festival culminates in a 5K run/family walk; however, the event itself consists of a 1-Mile Kids' Race, live music, food & drinks, kid zone and sponsor expo for the entire family to enjoy. Impossible Possibilities will also host a golf tournament along with the 5K to be announced at a later date.
