Maven's Milestones Book Drive

Impossible Possibilities is coordinating a book drive for its Maven’s Milestones program in support of the Washington Heights and Meadowbrook Elementary School libraries.

TCU Student EngagementIndividuals or businesses can donate children’s books to either campus through Friday, December 16, by contacting either Melissa Russell at Washington Heights ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. “We’re asking the community to support student reading by donating new or used books,” President Joshua Hernandez said. “The students are reading more and more each month, so it’s important that we do what we can to help them reach their potential.”

The Maven’s Milestones Reading Achievement Program complements each school’s Accelerated Reader (AR) program and rewards students with incentives for reaching each of Maven’s Milestones: Ascent, Afterburner, Approach and Call Sign Maven. Metrics through the end of October 2011 show that Meadowbrook students earned 1,630 points, which is approximately 40% of the total reading points earned during the 2010-2011 academic school years, while students at Washington Heights have increased their point totals by 175% from this time last year.

Impossible Possibilities is a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit organizations based out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area providing education initiatives locally and abroad.
