Granger Smith Set to Headline 4th Annual 5K FestivalGranger Smith will headline the Impossible Possibilities’ 4th Annual St. Patrick’s Day-5K Festival on March 17, 2012.
With hits like "Colorblind" and "Don't Listen to the Radio," Smith has steadily risen through the Texas Red Dirt ranks. His latest album "Poets & Prisoners" was released in 2011 and features the tracks "Sleeping on the Interstate and "I'm Wearing Black." Smith is scheduled to launch his first live album on Feb. 14, 2012, which he recorded at the Dixie Chicken in College Station, Texas. Opening for Smith is Six Market Blvd. (6MB), an up-and-coming band from Stephenville, Texas, that blends Rock & Roll, Americana and Country into its own unique sound. 6MB released its first full length album "Running on Seven" in July 2010, which features three top 100 singles, including "Silence in Me" and "Man Alive." "The festival continues to grow each year, and we anticipate 2012 to be more of the same," President Joshua Hernandez said. "The event also falls on St. Patrick's Day, so we're expecting a lot of people to come out just to see the bands. It's going to be a great show." The 4th Annual 5K Festival is a four-hour celebration complete with a 5K run/walk, 1-mile kids' race, live music, kid zone, sponsor expo, food and beverages. The festival runs from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Trinity Park in Fort Worth, with the kids' race at 3:30 p.m. and the 5K at 4:00 p.m. The event is open to the general public and raises funds for the organization's programs and initiatives. Impossible Possibilities is a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit organizations based out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area providing education initiatives locally and abroad. |
